Multiple drug application is more commonly used in clinic. Significant drug interactions and toxicity that derive from altering pharmacokinetic exposures pose potential liability concerns. For prediction of better pharmacokinetic property of drug candidates, the drug metabolizing enzyme inactivation/induction was examined in vitro and in vivo, including case studies of pharmacokinetic exposures for toxicity or for therapy of drug-resistant bacteria infection. This presentation will discuss in vitro and in vivo studies that address these issues.
